Grain's 1st Annual Beer Festival
Wow - what an event!
Hundreds of people, both young and old, came to join in the revelry at the Grain Brewery 1st Annual Beer Festival. Despite racking up plenty of beer, we ended up serving beer direct from the conditioning tank to make sure we wouldn't disappoint our thirsty revellers.
Jimmy Denny did a great job on the barbeque with his Alburgh Lamb burgers and sausages (I've never seen him looking quite so rosy-cheeked), and nothing was left over, not even a sausage. Everyone enjoyed the singing and dancing from the merry Golden Star Morris Dancers, accompanied by their hurdy-gurdies, whistles and squeezeboxes - even Phil had a go.
A huge thanks to all the locals for their support and to those who travelled from as far away as Huddersfield and London just to get some Grain. Thanks to Inapub for running the 'guess the pints in the fermenter' competition, and a massive thanks to the Golden Star crowd for their energetic entertainment.
Please send us your comments, pictures and video clips, and we'll post them on here as a reminder of a great evening.

'Just wanted to say cheers for a fantastic evening yesterday - we all really enjoyed ourselves. The size of the thing was just right, really nice to see families there too, and of course great food and beer! Hopefully it'll be an annual event!' - Derek Jackson | |
